Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad

The famous Salar Jung Museum houses one of the finest collections of art objects anywhere in the world. The Museum began its association with the Mission as an MCC in October 2003 for the conservation of manuscripts in Andhra Pradesh. It has a well equiped conservation labrotary. It has so far taken preventive care of 11,883 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 2085 manuscripts.

INTACH Chitrakala Parishath Art Conservation Centre, Bangalore

The INTACH Chitrakala Parishath Art Conservation Centre began functioning as MCC from September 2003. The MCC has completed preventive conservation of palm leaves in 9 Institutes and provided emergency treatment for manuscripts in 2 Institutes. It has a well-equipped laboratory with well-trained conservators in preventive and curative conservation. One workshop-cum-outreach campaign was also conducted during the year 2005. It has so far taken preventive care of 6,506 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 1,537 manuscripts.

Tamil Nadu Government Museum, Chennai

The Government Museum began its collaboration with the Mission as an MCC, in August 2004. It has a well equiped conservation labrotary. It has so far taken preventive care of19,007 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 7,402 manuscripts.

Karnataka State Archives, Bangalore

The MOU was signed with Karnataka State Archives in August 2004. They have a full-fledged conservation laboratory. It has so far taken preventive care of 144 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 315 manuscripts.

Tanjore Maharaja Serfoji's Saraswati Mahal Library, Thanjavur

An MCC was established at the world famous medieval library, the Maharaja Serfoji's Saraswati Mahal Library in Thanjavur in October 2003. Renowned for its own outstanding collection of manuscripts, particularly on palm leaf, the Library's collection belonged to the Thanjavur princely family. The Library employs indigenous methods of conservation and manuscript storage. It has so far taken preventive care of 494 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 427 manuscripts.

Mural Painting Conservation Research and Training Centre, Trippunithura Palace, Cochin

The Mural Painting Conservation Research and Training Centre, Trippunithura, Cochin Palace is a repository of art objects, paintings and historical data. The Centre began collaborating with the Mission in July 2004. It has so far taken preventive care of 2104 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 481 manuscripts.

Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS), Leh

The manuscripts in Ladakh are usually on hand made paper or leather with beautiful calligraphy in black, gold and silver. To conserve these manuscripts an MCC was established at CIBS. A conservation laboratory with basic infrastructure and equipment was set up by the Central Team for conservation at the Mission which visited CIBS, Leh in 2005. It has already given curative conservation treatment to 1,838 manuscripts. It has also been nominated as a Conservation Field laboratory for that area.

Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi

An MCC was created in early 2005 at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, t which has been working in the area of conservation unit of art conservation for more than a decade. It has established a well-equipped laboratory, which is being developed by the Centre as a model laboratory for conservation through indigenous technology. It has so far taken preventive conservation care of 3, 23417 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 11,890 manuscripts.

Department of Language and Culture, Shimla

Among the newest MCC-s, this Centre signed the MOU with Mission in May 2005. It has established a well-equipped laboratory. The Centre has been taking up preventive conservation work in the remote regions of Himachal Pradesh. It has so far taken preventive care of 2, 58,769 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 42,009 manuscripts and 35 scrolls.

The Himalayan Society for Heritage and Art Conservation, Nainital

The MCC has signed MOU with the Mission in July 2005.A conservation laboratory with basic facilities has been established. The Centre is being developed as a training institute for conservation. It has so far taken preventive care of 941 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 144 manuscripts.

Rampur Raza Library, Rampur

The MCC at Rampur Raza has been functioning since September 2003.Rampur Raza Library, housed in the Rampur Fort was established by Nawab Faizu'llah Khan, a remarkably gifted and far-sighted ruler conversant in a number of languages. The library is a rich storehouse of 50,000 books and 15,000 manuscripts in Arabic, Urdu, Persian and Turkish. It also houses Mughal miniature paintings from the sixteenth to eighteenth century. The Library has the status of a National Institution and now functions under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
 
Rampur Raza Library has a collection of 150 illustrated manuscripts and 11 Descriptive Catalogues of manuscripts in various languages and subjects. The library has published 12 manuscripts dealing with history and is preparing a critical edition of Tarikh-e-Baburi , a manuscript of immense historical value. The book is a contemporary Persian translation by the courtier Zain-e-Khanafi. Tarikh-e-Mohammadi , another important text, is being transcribed from the original for publication. It has so far taken preventive care of 13,081 manuscripts and given curative conservation treatment to 3933 manuscripts.

INTACH Orissa Art Conservation Centre, Bhubaneswar

The INTACH ICI Orissa Art Conservation Centre started functioning in September 2003. It is developing as a specialized centre for palm leaf manuscript conservation.
